7 Mother's Day Gifts Mom's Actually Want

Let’s be honest… every year on Mother’s Day its the same old thing. Flowers, Jewelry… the works. And don’t get me wrong, we love and appreciate them. BUUUUUTTTTTTTTT if we had our way… we wouldn’t say no to one of these things either! :) So if you’re looking for a new take on Mother’s Day… keep on scrolling!

Plants

Instead of flowers, get her something that stays alive for more than 10 days! :) Right now, plants are ALL the rage! Whether their real or fake… these babies brighten up every single corner of your home and trust me when I say your mom will love it! Snake plants and Succulents are always a great, low-maintenance option! A Break

This is a BIG ONE for mom’s of littles. Because, it’s time to get honest up in here, the hardest thing about Motherhood is the fact that it’s never ending. So, that’s why this is making the list. Buy your wife a weekend away CHILD free! Literally a hotel room alone with room service, shopping, no fixing little kids plates before eating our own, getting a massage, no waking up early, or middle of the night bad dreams, and a lot of watching whatever the heck she wants to watch on TV. Or, if your wife isn’t much of an introvert, maybe send her BFF with her! :)

Quality Time

This is a big one for mom’s of kids that are NOT so little. :) Let me tell you something… we spend our entire life’s effort into making these tiny little people into enjoyable human beings… and then… they want nothing to do with us! So if you’re grown up, surprise your mom with a visit! A phone call FULL of intimate and genuine conversation! Focus on connecting either online OR in person!

Target

Yep… target is it’s own category! lol! Give your wife a target gift card for a large amount of money and tell them that they HAVE to spend it on themselves! AND, give her an entire day/afternoon to spend there looking at all the things… WITHOUT HAVING TO ENTERTAIN KIDS WITH POPCORN AND BRIBERY! :) She will come home one VERY happy camper which might just translate into YOU being a very happy camper! ;)

Notes from Loved Ones

This one takes a bit of planning, but, it’s worth it. Gather up notes from people who played important roles throughout her life: childhood friends, her parents, her siblings, co-workers, high school BFF’s, college BFF’s, teammates, etc. and have them write/type a little letter about memories they had with her or the impact she had on their life. Compile them all into a binder or book and watch the tears flow as she reads the most heartfelt and thoughtful gift of all time. Bonus points if the very last letter is from you and MAKE IT A TEAR JERKER!

A Clean House

Take the kids away for a day and send your wife to a spa or on her own personal target shopping spree like I mentioned above. Then, pay a cleaning company to come and clean the entire house top to bottom: bathrooms, baseboards, floors, dusting, literally ALL THE THINGS! Don’t want to waste money on a one-time cleaning… get her what I wanted a few years and my husband deemed one of our top 10 purchases OF ALL TIME!
