Momtography 101 Student Feature
Sharing is hard! So when the idea of doing an online photography course just for moms came into my head in January of 2019, I wanted to ignore it! I had so many voices telling me not to do it. That I would be putting myself out of business. That I would become unnecessary. That I would fail. That no one would buy it.
And I would be lying if I told you that I wasn’t at all tempted to listen to these voices. But then I realized... my number one identity is not "photographer." And above all else I am called to live a life of love, and encouragement. A life that speaks truth and builds up others. I am not called to be selfish.
And then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Being selfish is easy but sharing... sharing takes courage. And in this world... the art of sharing and caring has slowly dissipated. We have been taught to look out for only ourselves. But guys... this is SO. SO. WRONG.
There is great satisfaction that can be found when we share with others. We create a living by what we get but a life.... that's made by what we GIVE.
My whole business aims to GIVE and to SERVE. So a beginner's camera class would only seem natural. So I decided to take that step of courage. And I shamefully admit that it seemed bigger than it ever should've felt.
But here we are… Momtography 101 has been launched and over 100 people are enrolled and frankly, I couldn’t be more proud. The amount of unbelieveable joy I’ve experienced by watching my students grow one by one has reminded me that true success is found when we dedicate our lives to helping others.
And for me, I wouldn’t just be teaching moms to take better pictures of their kids, I would be helping them to see the beauty in their own lives. I would be inspiring them to reclaim joy in their motherhood journey.
So each month I’m going to share some of my favorite before and after photos from REAL students! Because honestly, whether you’re interested in taking the online course or not, nothing is better than seeing real, powerful, life-changing transformation!
P.S. Huge shout out to my students for sharing their hearts with me and all the members of the private facebook group! You’ve made our little corner of the internet so safe, warm, helpful, supportive and welcoming!
Todays feature is from Jenni Pinta. This mom to three who is located in St. Louis, took the course, and experienced such success that she decided to start her own photography business, Jenni Pinta Photography! Check out her before and afters!
