The worst photoshoot ever...

You have to hear this story.

This sweet family have been clients of mine for a few years now and we love each other dearly. Well... it was time for Ezra's 6 month photos and Nora's 3 year photos. We started the day off in the studio and things were going well... I mean... look how adorable...

So we decided to head over to a local park and shoot some quick pictures outside as well. Well on the 3 minute drive to the park sweet Ezra decided to fall asleep. We decided, "Okay, no biggie... we will just do some more big sister pictures while he sleeps." Well Nora did awesome. I mean, she literally belongs among the wildflowers...

After heading back to the car, it was perfect timing because baby brother decided to wake up. So we headed off to the next location within the park to do some individuals of Ezra and then some of him and Nora together. And this is when the drama happens. So we get there and we get Ezra changed into his next outfit and we walk over and get everything set up and poor little Ezra (in the 112 degree heat also!!!!!) decides he is hungry. So we take a quick break and sit at a picnic table nearby to wait for Ezra to finish a bottle. Well while this is happening Nora is playing with me and comes up to give me a big hug and the poor girl rams her face right into my camera busting open her lips. Blood everywhere. I feel horrible. Her lip is a little swollen but we wipe up the blood and give her some drinks of water. She calms down and we think, "Okay awesome, crisis averted...." Well little did we know that we were somewhere near a bees nest and poor Nora started SCREAMING out of nowhere... we realize she got stung by a bee and we all move as they start swarming around us. We run off to our new location and Ezra finishes eating. I offer the choice of rescheduling and finishing up a different day but anyone who has kids knows how hard it is to get everyone ready for pictures so momma decided to push through. We get them all set up for pictures a few minutes post bee sting and Nora's poor cheeks turn beat red and start swelling up. She starts complaining that her face is itching really bad. We all begin to realize that she is having anaphylactic shock. Mom and dad pick her up and start running to their car as I yell directions at them to the closest place to get some Benadryll while on their way to the hospital for an epipen.

Thankfully, poor Nora is okay. Ezra is okay. But man oh man. That was SO scary! Outdoor photos aren't always glamorous that's for sure. But they sure do look pretty don't they. Haha!
